Alison offers a traditional and contemporary repertoire from the most popular funeral songs such as My Way or Amazing Grace to a more obscure piece of music, a show tune or pop ballad. Alison prides herself on finding the perfect song to suit your needs.
Alison is also able to learn new repertoire, should you and your family request a song that is not in her standard repertoire. I hope we can assist you in making the perfect song choice.

BACKING TRACKS vs LIVE MUSICIAN vs ORGANIST

Alison understands that strict time guidelines must be adhered to.
By performing to backing track, we are able to offer funeral directors and service venues a "minimum fuss" service. Should you wish to employ a musician for your service, we can provide this with an assurance that this will not impact on timings on the day. We will take care of everything for you.
We have accounts with Wesley Music Services and Obitus who provide music to the majority of crematoria in the UK. All of our backing tracks are available via their online system for use on the day.

For non-crematoria services, we are completely self contained. When using an inhouse sound system, we will ensure that backing tracks are delivered to the venue in whatever format they require: CD, mp3 player etc.

Should your choice of music require the use of the resident organist, we will liaise with the venue to arrange a rehearsal and/or to talk through music beforehand. You won't have to worry about a thing.
Whatever requirements you have, we will make sure that everything runs smoothly where the music is concerned.

What kind of song best suits your voice?
 

I have an ability to embrace a wide variety of styles. I offer a traditional and contemporary repertoire of popular songs.

Do you sing classical arias?
 

I am classically trained so am comfortable singing an arrangement of Ave Maria or Abide with Me, but if you're looking for Kiri Tekanawa, I will recommend one of my professional classical artists.

I am unsure as to what music I need for the service. Can you help me?

I'd like something different. I don't want a predictable funeral song.
 

I have the most beautiful collection of obscure funeral songs that will move and inspire you. Refer to the list of songs below and click on the listen link. I pride myself on finding the perfect song to suit your service.

I have a specific song in mind, but it's not on your list of repertoire? Might you be able to sing it?
 

I'm sure I can accommodate your song choice. There would be a minimal additional charge for preparing a new piece of music and I will use a discreet music folder on the day. Simply email your song request via the contact page along with the artist who recorded it. I will contact you to discuss.

Are you able to arrange a close harmony group or gospel choir?
  Because I work professionally within the music industry, I work alongside singers in the classical world, gospel choirs, pop choirs, close harmony groups etc. I am confident I can provide the service you are looking for.

How can I possibly choose a song? I don't know a lot of the songs listed below.
  Choosing the perfect song, to me, is about connecting with the lyric and the melody. I have provided mp3s links of each song (my version where possible) and you can also download the lyrics. I hope this helps you make the perfect song choice. When you book me for your service, you have access to my knowledge of music and repertoire.
